Our team · Cottontown, Sumner CountyMeet the JACCO Builders Team the people who work in your home

Owner Jonathon Wilkinson and a crew of tradespeople who arrive when the schedule says, protect the house while they work and leave it in order each evening. These are the people you will see on your project.

The crew

A crew you get to know, led by the owner

Hiring a contractor means letting people into your home for weeks at a time, so it matters who they are. At JACCO, the owner prices the work himself and remains involved until the last punch-list item is checked off, and the crew doing the work reports to him directly. His own story is on our About page.

Relying on its own crew for the core of each job keeps the number of unfamiliar faces in your house low. It also means the people building your project answer to the same person you do, so the standard does not shift from one stage to the next.

Trades

The trades on JACCO’s crew

These are the trades JACCO has kept on its own team, which lets most remodeling work pass from one stage to the next without waiting on an outside company’s calendar.

Carpentry

Framing for new walls and openings, structural repairs, trim and casing, built-ins, stairs and railings. Carpenters are usually first in after demolition and among the last out.

Plumbing

Supply and drain lines, fixture rough-ins and final connections for bathrooms, kitchens and additions, coordinated with inspections whenever a permit is involved.

Tile

Shower walls and floors, niches, backsplashes and tile floors, set on a flat, properly prepared and waterproofed base so the finished surface lasts.

Drywall

Hanging and finishing new walls and ceilings, and patching around new plumbing and wiring so the repair disappears once it is painted.

Painting

Interior and exterior paint and stain, with floors and furniture covered, surfaces prepared and lines cut clean before anyone calls a room finished.

In your home

What it is like to have the crew in your house

Sharing your home with a crew is easier when the small habits are reliable. The crew arrives at the time on the schedule and treats the house, and the people in it, with respect. Floors, furniture and the route to the work area are covered before tools come in, and questions about the plan go to Jonathon so that decisions are not made in a hallway.

Before the crew leaves each day, the site is put back in order: debris cleared, tools stored, dust dealt with. If you are living in the house, you should be able to walk through it in the evening without watching where you step.

Specialty trades

When a project calls for a licensed specialist

Some work falls outside the crew’s trades, such as certain electrical work, heating and cooling, or fabricated items like stone countertops and frameless glass. When a project needs a specialist, JACCO brings in licensed partners, schedules them alongside the crew and expects the same care with protection and cleanup.

You will know ahead of time who is coming and what they are there to do, and Jonathon remains responsible for the result. If you want to know who will handle a particular part of your project, ask during the bid. The order in which each trade arrives is set out in our five-stage process.

“The crew showed up every day and worked diligently performing many interior projects. Their quality of workmanship presented [a] beautiful end result, especially the fireplace surround and custom stair railing. Jonathon is very easy to work with and completed each task just the way it was planned. I am very pleased with JACCO Builders and will eagerly recommend them for future construction projects.”

“Jonathon was very respectful. He looked around and gave me an honest opinion about what I should do to my drywall. [We] did have to reschedule, but he was communicative and reached out. They came in while I was at work and repaired the drywall and painted. I came home and was expecting some mess left over or paint drips, but nothing. Good work, would recommend.”
