Who we are
JACCO Builders is a licensed general contractor in Cottontown, in Sumner County. Jonathon Wilkinson founded the company in 2021, with more than 25 years of trade experience behind him, and the work centers on bathrooms, full home remodels, additions and decks, with kitchens, carpentry and outdoor living alongside.
Most of what we know about remodeling was learned on job sites rather than in a showroom. The questions homeowners ask during consultations are also remarkably consistent, which makes the answers worth writing down where anyone can find them. Bathrooms lead our work, so several early articles will start there, but the same thinking applies to kitchens, additions and decks.
What this blog will cover
- Planning a bathroom remodel, and the decisions to settle before demolition
- What drives remodeling costs, and where the money actually goes
- How to read a contractor’s bid and compare it with others
- How change orders work, and how to keep them few and fair
- Choosing tile, countertops, flooring and fixtures that wear well
How we will write
No article here will quote a price or a timeline it cannot back up. Every house is different, and the honest answer to “what will it cost?” is a written scope after a site visit. What an article can do is explain the factors, show how one decision affects the next, and help you arrive at a consultation with sharper questions.
If there is something you would like us to cover, email jewilkinson@gmail.com; your question may well become a future article. In the meantime, you can read about our five-stage process or browse finished work in the project gallery.
