Cottontown, TN · General contractingGeneral Contractor in Cottontown, TN
Additions, whole-home remodels, porches and outbuildings for Cottontown properties, managed by one licensed contractor from the written bid through permits, trades and inspections to the final punch list.

One contract for every link in the chain
A construction project is a long chain of dependencies. The foundation has to pass inspection before framing, framing before rough plumbing and wiring, rough-ins before insulation and drywall, and so on through paint, trim and fixtures. Each link involves a different trade, a different supplier and sometimes a different inspector. A general contractor owns the whole chain: writing the scope, pricing it, pulling permits, scheduling the trades in order and answering for the result.
On rural Cottontown properties, the chain usually includes links a subdivision project would not. An addition may need its foundation designed around a slope. A new bathroom has to be planned around a septic system and a private well. A detached garage, workshop or guest cottage needs its own footings, power and sometimes water carried across the lot. None of these are unusual out here, but they are exactly the items that cause delays when nobody is responsible for coordinating them.
JACCO works as that single point of responsibility. You get one written bid, one contract and one schedule, with Jonathon involved from the first site visit to the final walk-through. Trades arrive in the right order, the work area is tidied before the crew leaves every day, and the punch list is finished before the project closes. Our general contractor services page and our five-stage process explain how that works in practice.

Building in unincorporated Sumner County
Cottontown has no city building department of its own, so projects here are permitted through Sumner County. JACCO confirms the requirements for each job during the bid, prepares the applications and schedules the inspections, including any review a septic system or a new outbuilding calls for. Because the company is based in Cottontown, projects here are close to home, and Jonathon can be on site for the moments that matter most: the layout, the inspections and the final walk-through.
“The project kept to its schedule over the next couple of months. The people Jonathon employs have terrific work ethics, from being on time to cleaning up at the end of every day.”
- Stage 1Bid
Site visit, measurements and a written bid tied to a clear scope of work.
- Stages 2 and 3Schedule · Build
Selections settled, materials lined up, a detailed schedule, and a protected, clean home while we build.
- Stages 4 and 5Punch list · Close
We walk the finished work with you and close the project when every item on the list is done.
How involved do we need to be once construction starts?
As involved as you like, but you should not have to manage the job. Selections are settled before work begins, you receive a detailed schedule of what happens and when, and JACCO coordinates the trades, deliveries and inspections. Your part is mainly decisions: approving any change to the written scope and walking the finished work with us at the punch-list stage, before the project formally closes.
Can you build a detached garage or workshop on our property?
Yes. Detached buildings are full construction projects: a site plan, footings or a slab, framing, roofing, doors and windows, and often power or water carried from the house. Setbacks, the location of the well and septic system, and the slope of the site all affect where the building can go. We work those questions out on site and include the answers in the written bid, so the price covers the whole building rather than just the shell.
