Garages, workshops, cabins and full rebuilds on Cottontown land, carried from the first footing to the final inspection by one licensed builder who plans the site before anything is poured.

Building new on rural land, start to finish
Residential construction means building new rather than renovating what is there. That might be a new structure on your property, or a rebuild where a damaged or failing building comes down and something sound replaces it. The order of work is the same in each case: site preparation and footings, the foundation, framing, then dry-in with roofing, windows and wrap, followed by plumbing, electrical and mechanical rough-ins, insulation, interior finishes and final inspection. Each stage is checked before the next one covers it.
Jonathon learned the trade in exactly that order. Straight out of high school he went to work for a family whose business was building houses from bare ground, and he took part in each phase, framing through final trim. That background shows in how JACCO plans new work: the drawings, the site and the order of trades are settled before the first footing is dug, so the build moves forward instead of circling back to fix what was rushed.
Rural sites bring their own preparation. On larger, sloping Cottontown lots, a new building may need grading, stepped footings or a taller foundation on the low side, plus a plan for where runoff goes. Concrete trucks and lumber deliveries need a route that holds their weight and stays well away from the septic system. Typical requests include garages and workshops, guest cabins, timber pavilions and rebuilt porches; the residential construction page describes the full range.

Site planning and permits for a Cottontown build
Sumner County issues the permit for a new building in the Cottontown area, and the application typically includes a site plan locating the structure against property lines, the well and the septic system. We assemble that plan, file it once the contract is signed, and call for the footing, framing and final inspections in turn. On acreage, we also walk the site with you to choose a location that drains well, leaves the drain field undisturbed and keeps sensible access for trucks now and for whatever comes later.
“They provide a detailed schedule of what would be done and which day. Work was completed when he said it would be done.”

Where should a new garage or workshop go on our acreage?
Somewhere that drains well, stays clear of the septic tank and field, and is easy to reach in every season. We also weigh how far power and water must travel, whether a concrete truck can get there, and how the building will look from the house and the road. Setbacks from property lines apply too. Walking the land together before drawings start usually settles the location quickly, and it often prevents costly site work that a less suitable spot would require.
Can a new outbuilding have water and power?
Yes, and planning it early keeps costs down. Power is usually trenched from the house or the electric service, often to a small subpanel in the new building. Water can come from the house supply or the well line, buried below frost depth with a shutoff. A bathroom in an outbuilding raises the septic question, which needs an answer before design is final. We include trenching, conduit and connections in the written scope, so the building is ready to use when it is finished.
