Kitchens, baths, flooring, trim and layout changes planned as one project for Franklin homes, under one contract and one schedule, so the finished house feels consistent from room to room.

One renovation instead of five separate ones
Remodeling one room at a time over several years tends to leave a house with a new kitchen beside a dated hallway, three kinds of flooring and trim that changes at every doorway. Planning the work as one project avoids that. Layout, the systems behind the walls and the finishes are decided together, each trade comes through once instead of returning again and again, and you live through a single construction period rather than several.
In Franklin, the starting point depends heavily on the house. A historic home near downtown often needs the most work behind the walls: wiring and plumbing from different decades, framing that has settled, and rooms divided in ways that made sense long ago. The goal there is usually to modernize how the house works while keeping the proportions, millwork and details that drew you to it. A home in an established subdivision is more often sound but dated throughout, which makes a coordinated update of kitchen, baths, floors and lighting a natural fit.
Large renovations can also be phased. Some families move out for the heaviest stretch; others stay while the work moves through the house in zones, keeping a bathroom and bedrooms usable. Either way, our whole-home remodeling runs on one written scope and one detailed schedule, with the site cleaned daily and a full punch list walk at the end. The whole job moves through JACCO’s five-stage process, from the bid to the final closeout.
What a full renovation often covers
- Reworked floor plans and widened openings
- Kitchen and bathrooms remodeled together
- One continuous floor across the main level
- Updated wiring, plumbing and lighting plans
- Doors, trim and millwork matched throughout
- Interior painting as the finishing layer
Running a full renovation through Franklin’s permit process
A renovation of this size nearly always needs a building permit from the City of Franklin, and it moves through several inspections as framing, wiring and plumbing are roughed in and the walls close. JACCO files the application and meets each inspector so the schedule keeps moving. When part of the project reaches the exterior, such as replacement windows, a rebuilt front porch or a rear addition on a house in one of the historic districts, Franklin’s design review may come first; we check during the bid and order the work around it.
“The project kept to its schedule over the next couple of months. The people Jonathon employs have terrific work ethics, from being on time to cleaning up at the end of every day.”

Can we live at home during a whole-home remodel?
Sometimes, depending on how much of the house is torn up at once. When the kitchen and the only full bath are out of service together, a short move is usually easier on everyone. When the work can be split into zones, we sequence it so you keep a working bathroom and a place to sleep, close off the active areas from the rooms you are using and clean up at the end of every day.
Should we update the systems in an older Franklin home during the remodel?
Almost always. With walls and ceilings open, replacing outdated wiring, supply lines and drains is far simpler than it will be once new drywall, trim and paint are in place. We note visible conditions during the site visit and write the system updates into the scope, so the decision is made before demolition rather than in the middle of it. Your finished rooms then sit on infrastructure that matches them.
